If I could get away without leaving them any stars, I would. One of their insureds backed into me with a hitch, causing damage to my bumper and front quarter panel. The claims coordinator with my insurance company has been unable to get ahold of anyone to file the claim, so I am left covering the damages their insured caused. I was hopeful I would be able to get my deductible reimbursed, but after reading all of these reviews; I will not be holding my breath on that! Absolutely ridiculous.

They authorized payment to my pharmacy on 4 different prescription and then decided they weren't going to pay, so I am left owing them $600. They really don't pay for anything. Cudos to Medicare for shutting them down to Medicare part D members. If what they do isn't illegal, it should be!

⚠️⚠️⚠️WARNING‼️⚠️⚠️⚠️
PLEASE READ FULL REVIEW TO KNOW WHAT YOU’RE GETTING INTO WITH THIS COMPANY‼️

I would like to state that the interaction I had with this company was with the worker’s compensation division. With that said I can see why they have such a low review rating and I believe everyone’s postings about negative feedback!!!

I was employed by NAPA auto parts as a parts delivery driver, one day I was transporting an iron exhaust manifold for a truck, a piece fell off and landed directly on the right big toe joint ….ouch!!! It was reported to the job and the following day I was unable to do my job due to the severe searing pain. It just got worse and worse and I couldn’t physically work, the job (NAPA auto parts/automotive of York) took about a week to report it to this company which was their worker’s compensation provider. That’s when this nightmare began‼️

Once I was given a claim number I was told to go to an urgent care facility or doctors office but not a specialist. I went to an urgent care and was promptly referred to a specialist due to a possible lisfranc injury. Turns out nothing was broken but there was lots of soft tissue swelling and blunt force trauma. Was put in a walking boot (no fun by the way) and able to just start walking semi normal (with the boot) about a week/week and a half later then instructed to transition to normal footwear.

I was NEVER told to go to their panel of doctors so I went to where I was referred. The specialist stated to give me 3-4 weeks total off to recover and get back to walking. About 2 weeks from the date of injury my “boss” called and said the insurance company (clear spring) wanted me back to work⚠️⚠️⚠️ These people are NOT doctors or medical professionals in any way, shape or form‼️ They just wanted to rush me back so they wouldn’t have to pay for time off while being injured which most worker’s compensation companies do.

The specialist said NO, you can go back on this date but not before! In the meantime bills don’t stop because you can’t physically work, something clear spring and other insurance companies “CLEARly” don’t understand‼️ once the date was set to return they let off a bit. Now mind you almost a month went by and no paycheck was sent to me so I tried calling and finding out what’s going on⚠️⚠️⚠️ That’s when I had the lovely pleasure of reaching CHARLENE OBARA‼️

The thing about her is she wants to be a doctor (without any medical training or licensing) and wants to not answer your questions. She has an attitude and definitely doesn’t belong in the customer service industry‼️ the company (UNCLEAR spring) sent a letter out saying I wasn’t eligible for worker’s compensation payments which was incorrect! I was told they sent that but must’ve “forgot” to send the correct letter saying the wage I should be getting! It still took about a week/week and a half to get a check for 2 weeks (not the total I was unable to work though)⚠️⚠️⚠️‼️

I sent an email to the customer service department and they just had a number to call regarding claims. I called the number many many times and never an answer‼️ so I emailed back and got completely ignored. Ended up spending multiple days trying to call every few hours and eventually got through. When I got through the woman put me on hold to ask when the next check would be sent/coming. After several minutes on hold she came back on the phone started talking then just hung up on me‼️ I called back and miraculously the same person answered (surprised I even got through) and informed me checks are sent 2 weeks apart and should be mailed out soon. It’s now been over a month and still no check so I gave up on it.

The point of all of this is RUN AS FAR AND FAST AWAY FROM THIS SOUL SUCKING, EVIL COMPANY AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN‼️⚠️⚠️⚠️ as I said I just dealt with the worker’s compensation division of this company and it was that awful so can’t imagine having any policies with them in would be any different or a more positive experience. If you decide to deal with this company just be warned by the copious amount of reviews‼️

In 29 years of business, I have never had the problems with a Work Comp carrier like I have had with Clear Spring. The first policy year was fine. However, the "wheels fell off the cart" after renewal in Sep 2021 (policy period 09/30/21 -09/30/22). First, our assigned adjuster was absolutely useless - she was slow and did not timely or properly process claims. Secondly, the underwriters closed my audit even though (as per their procedures) I filed their "dispute form." I never received the final audit. I never received an invoice. Today, I receive a "Demand Notice" threatening legal action for non-payment. Meanwhile, I am still awaiting the resolution of my dispute. Furthermore, they rarely respond, and never timely. Find any other carrier - do not use Clear Spring.

These guys canceled my policy almost 2 years ago because they stopped covering my area. Now I’m being hit with a threatening letter saying I owe $3600.

They canceled my policy when I tried to renew so why would I owe money to them?

I’d stay away from this company.

I was hit by someone insured though this company and they have been absolutely horrible to do with. No one answers or returns phone calls. My claims adjuster openly admitted to lying to me twice on recorded line about the process and status of my claim. They have intentionally tried to mislead me as well about what my rights are when it comes to how my claim is handled. The original check for damage to my car got lost in the mail and I have asked for a reissued check to be sent and yet they still keep requesting my personal bank information to do a “direct deposit”. I would fear that this company would steal money out of my bank account if they had the informatIon! Do not insure with these people and I pity anyone who is hit by someone who does insure with them! They have zero customer service and I’ve even went up the chain of command to try and deal with it. Marcus And Holly both lied to me and Allison has yet to even care that their employees are doing this. I’m on the verge of finding an attorney who can file a bad faith claim against this company for me.

This insurance company is terrible. They do not care about you or what you’re going through. They take forever to get back to you. I started my claim on June 24th and got denied on July 10th. They didn’t bother to reach out at all I had to always call and ask for an update. After I called and they told me my claim got denied, 3 days later the same guy Marcus called me just to tell me again that my claim was denied. Every time I spoke with him he always sounded uninterested and like he didn’t care just overall so unprofessional and no customer service skills at all. We are switching and you shouldn’t give them your money.

If you need an insurance policy, do not give your business to this company. This company has put me through hell during the entire Christmas and New Year holiday and it’s still not over yet. I’m not going into detail because I don’t have the time to lay the whole fiasco out but consider this your warning. Go with anyone else. I would give 0 stars if I could.

Go up
